Welcome to JM Robson Aquatic Centre

J M Robson Aquatic Centre is your aquatic facility serving the Lithgow and surrounding community.

Our indoor facilities offer you a heated 25-metre swimming pool with space for lap swimming as well as recreation swimming, with our pool depth ranging from 0.7m to 1.5m there is space for everyone. We have also installed a sauna facility which now runs during our opening hours and is suitable for any patron over 16 years of age.

Outdoor facilities include a 50-metre lap swimming pool and a hydroplay pool with a shaded grandstand and grassed area with picnic tables. This pool is open from October until April each summer season.

J M Robson Aquatic Centre is open seven days a week, with our indoor facility open all year round.

Outdoor Pool Closure and Winter Operating Hours

Lithgow City Council advises the community that the Outdoor pool and facilities at the J M Robson Aquatic Centre will close for the season on Monday, 6 April 2026.

The closure coincides with the Centre’s Easter operating hours, after which the facility will transition into its 2026 winter operating schedule.

Easter Operating Hours – J M Robson Aquatic Centre

• Good Friday – 3 April: Closed
• Easter Saturday – 4 April: 8:00am – 4:00pm
• Easter Sunday – 5 April: Closed
• Easter Monday – 6 April: 8:00am – 4:00pm

From Tuesday, 7 April 2026, the Aquatic Centre will introduce an earlier opening time of 5:30am, Monday to Friday, for the winter period. This change aims to better accommodate public access while supporting the Centre’s range of aquatic programs during the winter timetable.

Weekend operating hours will also change to 8:00am – 4:00pm from this date.

Opening of the Outdoor Pool – Saturday 11 October 2025

Lithgow City Council advises the community that the scheduled opening of the J M Robson Aquatic Centre outdoor pool for the 2025 season has been delayed until Saturday 11 October.  The indoor aquatic facilities will remain open and fully operational.

The delay is due to a failure of the pool’s plant equipment, which is essential for maintaining safe water quality and temperature. Urgent repairs are currently underway, with specialist contractors engaged to restore the system to full operation as quickly as possible.

The outdoor pool will now open on Saturday, 11 October 2025. Summer hours of operation will be weekdays 6am – 7pm and weekends 8am – 6pm.
