Welcome to JM Robson Aquatic Centre

J M Robson Aquatic Centre is your aquatic facility serving the Lithgow and surrounding community.

Our indoor facilities offer you a heated 25-metre swimming pool with space for lap swimming as well as recreation swimming, with our pool depth ranging from 0.7m to 1.5m there is space for everyone. We have also installed a sauna facility which now runs during our opening hours and is suitable for any patron over 16 years of age.

Outdoor facilities include a 50-metre lap swimming pool and a hydroplay pool with a shaded grandstand and grassed area with picnic tables. This pool is open from October until April each summer season.

J M Robson Aquatic Centre is open seven days a week, with our indoor facility open all year round.

Opening of the Outdoor Pool – Saturday 11 October 2025

Lithgow City Council advises the community that the scheduled opening of the J M Robson Aquatic Centre outdoor pool for the 2025 season has been delayed until Saturday 11 October.  The indoor aquatic facilities will remain open and fully operational.

The delay is due to a failure of the pool’s plant equipment, which is essential for maintaining safe water quality and temperature. Urgent repairs are currently underway, with specialist contractors engaged to restore the system to full operation as quickly as possible.

The outdoor pool will now open on Saturday, 11 October 2025. Summer hours of operation will be weekdays 6am – 7pm and weekends 8am – 6pm. 

Lithgow City Council thanks the community for its patience and understanding while these essential works are completed.

Long weekend opening hours

Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the extended hours weekend hours (8:00am to 6:00pm) to enjoy the indoor pool facilities over the upcoming October long weekend (Saturday 4th – Monday 6th October). 

Normal weekday operating hours (6am – 7pm) will resume from Tuesday, 7 October 2025.

Outdoor Pool Winter Closure

Lithgow City Council wishes to advise that the Outdoor swimming facilities will be closed to all patrons from Monday 7th April 2025

After one of the busiest seasons we’ve ever had, the outdoor facility will be closing to the public from the close of business on Sunday 6th April 2025. 

The staff and management of the Aquatic Centre would like to thank everyone for their patronage during the summer season.

We will be continuing to run our regular programs from the indoor pool over the winter season and look forward to your continued patronage throughout the year.
